The Beats Solo3 Wireless headphones by Dr Dre lets you feel your music with a wide range of sound and clarity. Streamlined, lightweight, and durable, this compact over-the-ear headphone is crafted from high quality materials and designed with comfort in mind. Take your music to a new level with the Beats Solo3. The RemoteTalk cable performs a wide range of functions on a slim three-button remote, so you dont have to fumble with your device. You can change the Song, Change the Volume, Answer/Decline Calls, use Voice Command, And so much more. Beats are made to work with most devices. However, functionality may vary by product.

The Beats Solo3 Wireless is one of the first headphones with Apple’s new W1 wireless chip. It makes Bluetooth connection literally seamless. Power on your Solo3 Wireless headphones, and move them near your iPhone, and the connection just happens. Instantly, your new headphones are linked to your iPhone, and any other Bluetooth-toting Apple device you own, whether it’s an Apple Watch or an iPad or a MacBook. It’s that simple.

Design

Available in glossy black, white, gold, rose gold, or silver models, the supra-aural (on-ear) Solo3 Wireless feature exceptionally comfortable earpads and a slightly less comfortable headband—its underside is notably less padded. During short listening sessions, the headphones are quite comfortable, but you might feel a bit of fatigue during longer listening periods.

The left earcup houses a 3.5mm connection for the included audio cable, as well the on-ear control panel. While the outer panels for both ears look nearly identical, the left ear’s Beats logo is actually a functional button—pressing it controls playback, answers or ends calls, or navigates tracks, depending on how many taps you give it. Tapping above or below the logo controls the volume levels, which work in conjunction with your device’s master volume levels. The right earcup houses the power/pairing button, as well as the micro USB port for the included charging cable.

Performance

On tracks with intense sub-bass content, like The Knife’s “Silent Shout,” the Solo3 Wireless deliver powerful deep bass response that doesn’t distort, even at top, unwise listening levels. It’s the bass-forward sound signature that Beats is known for and will appeal to lovers of boosted low frequencies, but the high-mids and highs are also well represented, and compared with previous Beats products, the bass here seems less in-your-face.

Battery Life

So Beats claims that the battery on the new Solo 3 Wireless will last you an insane 40 hours. For reference, the previous Solo 2 model lasted 12 hours. The difference is, again thanks to the new W1 chip. These get pretty loud and testing them on max volume got us about 31.5 hours. So it’s easy to see how you can 40 hours if you listen to music at normal human levels. If you do manage to deplete your battery, throwing them back on a charger for 5 minutes is enough to get you another 3 hours of battery life.

Bluetooth hasn’t got the best reputation for being especially easy to use over the past few years, but Apple’s new chip and associated software smarts means that if you’re using an iPhone, your next headphones should have this chip inside. It’ll take some time for W1 to filter outside of the Apple family, but until then there’s a genuine reason for you to choose a pair of wireless Beats if you’re in desperate need of new headphones right now.

Many will argue that the some of the first generation set of Beats headphones were a bit subpar in terms of quality and the choice of materials used in their construction. The same cannot be said about the Beats Mixr On-Ear headphones.

Beats headphones have forged a solid reputation for themselves about their bold and eye catching designs. This one is no exception.

This powerful headset was designed for DJs and was inspired by the artist DJ David Guetta.

Beats Mixr Features

The plastic headband provides a great deal of flexibility and the rotary hinges provide mobility through a 270 degree range. The design is highly efficient and comfortable to wear.

This product is much sturdier and the arch appears to be solid and well-articulated. This sturdy design is to be expected considering the fact that his headset is intended for use by DJs and as such, it needs to be built to tough enough to withstand the stress of daily use. It was designed with a housing that is able to withstand the abuse that goes with working long hours alongside a professional disc jockey.

At the same time, it was designed with materials which permit it to be folded easily when being taken from one spot to the next. The headphones of the Mixr swivel and rotate backward for a more personal and comfortable use as desired by the user.

As these are mostly designed for use as DJ headphones, the ear buds of this product are articulated such that they can swivel forwards through a 90 degree range and 180 degrees backwards into its storage position. All the swiveling action poses no threat whatsoever to the flat cable of the headphone and stretches up to 1.3 meters in length.

They would be perfect for use in very noisy environments as that was one of the factors put into consideration during the design process. This would come in handy for DJs at parties when they are trying to move the audience and get the party going. The Beats Mixr DJ headphones will deliver a very deep bass even at a very high sound level.

The ear cups of the Beats Mixr headphones have a dual input connectors through which the two accompanying cables in the product package can be attached for sharing audio content. The package contains a 1.3 meter long cable suited for attachment to iOS, Android and Blackberry smartphones and devices. There is a second DJ audio cable in the package which is more suitable for use on the turntables.

There is a fairly substantial change in sound reproduction in Beats Mixr compared to other Beats headphones. The level is very high at the bottom of the spectrum, before it reduces in the low-mid tones. The mediums are quite low as well, while the level goes back up again as you’re gradually approaching 2 kHz.

Answering telephone calls with this headset is a breeze and switching from listening to music to making/receiving phone calls is facilitated by the presence of the RemoteTalk cable on the product unit.

A semi-hard case is shipped along with the product package for easier portability. Aided by its light weight, these headphones can be easily folded and fit into this carry case and lugged around easily wherever you are going.

In more recent years, headphones are no longer just an everyday gadget for enjoying music. They have become a fashion accessory and for many others, they have even become a status symbol. In view of this trend, the manufacturer of these headphones, Monster Cable and the hip hop mogul, Dr. Dre, decided to develop a headset that stands out from rest of the pack in terms of value and quality.

They aimed to create, on one hand, a range of high-end headphones such as the Beats Pro Over-Ear Headphone, and on the other hand, also try to promote brand awareness.

Needless to say, headphones from Beats have acquired a very good reputation, which, of course, implies that all their customers will have high expectations from their product offerings. The Beats Pro by Dr. Dre do not disappoint considering the many test reports that they have undergone.

Features

The Beats Pro over-ear headphone is a reference point in headphones designed by audio professionals for audio professionals. These headphones are a picture of excellent workmanship and were manufactured using strong, yet lightweight materials that are of great quality; primarily steel and aluminum.

The gunmetal aluminum frame of this product makes it a bit chunky, even though they are very comfortable.

They have sound-insulating in-ear cushions that allow the user to enjoy the superb sounds of the headphones without being distracted by external noises.

For starters, the headphones have fold-able ear cups which allow the DJ to listen to the music mix on one ear and on the other, the room’s acoustics. The feature of the headphones being fold-able makes for easy storage and transportation.

There is also the possibility of plugging a cable into either or both the left and right ear cup. This is a very handy feature for DJs. If the cable is plugged into the left one, for instance, the signal is looped through the connection to the right ear cup. This implies that another person can easily plug in via the input cable port to listen to the sound mix.

As for the sound, the Beats Pro over-ear headphones have a very good, detailed overall sound but they also have a dominant bass. The notes are beautifully-balanced, rich and bassy without actually overwhelming the treble.

These headphones were designed to preserves the original studio quality and integrity and they serve this purpose commendably.

In particular, proponents of a clear and neat but powerful sound will like this product. With dual input and output ports on the cable of the Beats Pro you will be able to share mixes by linking to a similar monster headphones.

General Intro

There’s never been a headphone manufacturer that has completely dominated the marketplace the way that Beats has been able to in just the last few years.

Literally exploding out of nowhere to quickly become the most popular headphones on the planet (rivaling Apple and their little white earbuds that ship with every device they sound), it should have come as no surprise to anyone that Apple would purchase this hardware company – though the multibillion-dollar price tag they paid probably turned a couple of heads!

Their flagship product, these Beats Studio wireless headphones are absolutely second to none, even though they command a pretty steep premium price tag.

Are they worth it?

Sound Quality

Early generations of Beats Studio headphones all suffered from some pretty serious sound quality issues, but nothing could be further from the truth today.

The engineers behind these wireless headphones pulled out all of the stops to create incredible high fidelity headphones that rival pretty much everything else on the premium market. Using the Beats Acoustic Engine (proprietary hardware and software) as well as dual-mode adaptive noise canceling features, these headphones are going to provide you with a studio like experience even while walking down a busy and noisy street.

Fit

Fit and finish on the new Beats Studio wireless headphones are as good as it gets – and that’s saying something!

Fitting very snug up against your head and completely encapsulating your ears, these headphones are going to create a pitch perfect “seal” to lockout the outside world and any ambient noise without feeling too tight or pinching in any way whatsoever.

Not exactly the latest headphones on the planet, they aren’t going to weigh you down all that much, either.

Design

When it comes to design, Beats absolutely knocks it out of the park – and that’s probably part of why Apple was so keen to drop a couple of billion dollars on them to snatch up the company.

Simple, straightforward, and very modern in their aesthetic, these headphones are drop dead gorgeous and sound just as beautiful!

Beats Electronics is a company founded by music producer Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre, a legendary artist/music producer whose real name is Andre Romelle Young. It was formally established in the year 2006 with their flagship products being their line of high-end headphones, in-ear headphones, high quality speakers, “Beats” by Dr. Dre and the software patented technology Beats Audio as well as the service Beats Music streaming subscriptions.

The founders wanted to bring a new kind of headphones on the market that would make consumers have the same musical experience as the artists and producers do while in professional recording studios.

The company has become so wildly successful that their products have quickly become an integral part of pop culture today. This point is further buttressed by the fact that many renowned athletes and celebrities have been spotted publicly sporting Beats headphones.

Celebrities Who Wear Headphones From Beats Electronics

Iconic figures such as LeBron James, Serena Williams and soccer star Neymar Jr. have been known to use Beats headphones both in training and on game days. This has further added to the appeal of the headphones to the mob of teeming music and sports fans.

Over the years, the company has released quite a number of products that were designed in collaboration with top celebrities such as Justin Bieber, LeBron James and Lady Gaga, to name a few. Superstar DJ, David Guetta even had special headphones designed specifically for DJs known by the names Beats Mixr and Beats Mixr Neo.

Beats also works with other manufacturers. Leading laptop maker HP integrated Beats Audio speakers in its HP Envy line of laptops. Smartphone manufacturer HTC did the same with the Beats Audio software. Also, there have been collaborations with auto makers Chrysler and Dodge.

From the year 2008, Beats by Dr. Dre products were manufactured in collaboration with Monster Cable Products Company. But in January 2012, the two companies announced that they would no longer work together.

Until 2012, Beats Electronics was mostly owned by the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC, but over the years, they sold their stake in the company back to the Beats Electronics.

Within only six years of its existence, the company became responsible for a market share of about 59% of the headphones market, well ahead of companies like Sennheiser, Sony, Philips etc. In 2012 alone, it accounted for an estimated 40% of sales of headphones in the United States, a market valued at more than $ 1 billion. This feat is even more impressive when you consider the fact that some of the Beats headphones have prices reaching as high as $ 300. This is in the same market where traditional brands offer reasonable headphone options costing around US $ 30.

Although many will argue that the Beats headphones are not necessarily the best range of headphones products on the market. In fact, the technical quality of the Beats products is highly debatable. There are other brands with much lower costs offer a considerably higher sound quality, which makes the runaway success of this brand even more impressive. In practice, things like design and concept have cemented these products’ place among the best.

Beats Audio Company was one of the first companies that to offer different sets of headphones that were focused more on comfort and design.

The Company Beats Electronics Gets Purchased

On the 28th of May, 2014, Apple announced that it has agreed terms to acquire the acclaimed music streaming subscription service Music Beats and Beats Electronics, which produce the popular headphones, earphones, speakers and software Beats Audio. Apple is acquiring the two companies for a total of $ 3 billion, this purchase price is $ 2.6 billion and approximately $ 400 million is to be paid over time.

With the acquisition of the company, the line of Beats products will be on sale in many other countries, through the Apple Online Store, Apple Store retail stores as well as select Apple Authorized Resellers.

Even for a profitable company like Apple, the investment is a huge one and is the largest acquisition ever in the company’s history. Co-founder of Beats, Dr. Dre can boast of being a billionaire and arguably the first member of the hip-hop community to achieve this feat.

Co-founder, Jimmy Iovine has been in the forefront of innovation in the music industry for decades and has been a key partner for Apple and for iTunes for over a decade. He has collaborated with many of the top-selling artists in the history of iTunes Store, thus helping to make it the premier retailer of music in the world.

What Apple intends to do with Beats is uncertain, but the company’s focus appears to be on their music-streaming service rather than its range of headphones and speakers. Their music-streaming service makes them a direct competitor with services like Spotify and Deezer.

It is also a possibility that Beats Audio technology will end up being integrated into Macs and iOS devices just like it was done in HP laptops and HTC smartphones.
