Not all noise canceling headphones are created equally, which is something you understand the moment that you slide the LINNER NC90 active noise canceling Bluetooth headphones over your ears and compare them to literally ANY other “noise canceling” headphones you’ve used in the past.

Unlike some of the more traditional or old-school noise canceling options on the market right now, the LINNER NC90 headphones use active noise canceling technology to not just insulate your ears from ambient noise or outside noise interference but to filter out 35 dB of outside noise as well – even if you aren’t listening to anything in your headphones when you have them on!

On top of that, you will be able to customize the level of outside noise filtering with the active module on the LINNER NC90 headphones so that you have just enough “white noise” in the background if you aren’t interested in almost total silence when you slip these on.

Smart touch controls make these a breeze to operate, and for the price tag you’ll have a tough time finding anything better on the market today than these LINNER NC90 headphones.

Tech Specs

The underlying Active Noise Canceling (ANC) software in these headphones acts as the heartbeat and foundation of this system, canceling out upwards of 35 dB of outside new ones as we highlighted above.

On top of that, you’ll be able to adjust the level of ANC you have running in your headphones at any one particular point in time. You can adjust between high levels of ANC over there canceling out 35 dB, medium levels of ANC (canceling out about half that), or low/no levels of ANC – drinking in all of the ambient noise around you as though you were using traditional headphones.

These features not only give you more control over your listening experience but also help you conserve battery. But thanks to the lithium-ion technology in these headphones you’ll get at least 34 hours of battery life for just 2.5 hours of charging – and you can stretch that out even more if you’re in medium or low levels of ANC!

This Sony headphone was unveiled at the IFA 2017 and had audiophiles worldwide buzzing. The WH-1000XM2 headphones have numerous upgrades and have maintained their excellent and authentic build. They have a two-tone black and gray finish that stands out more than the original MDR-1000X version. The exceedingly comfortable pads and headband are back making them a suitable replacement to the MDR-1000X. The better padding of the ear cups makes them less fatiguing and comfortable for long listening sessions. The headphone still folds into a compact shape and into a small rigid case.

Battery Life and Charging

The main and most note-worthy tweaks are the improvements in battery life and finish. Sony has doubled the battery life to 30 hours of playback in ANC mode and 40 hours in wired mode. The headphones have a new quick charge feature that gives the user up to 70 minutes of battery life in just 10 minutes of charging. The headphone charges using the standard micro-USB. There have been improvements in the design of the headphones to increase durability and reduce the chances of any creaking and eventual breaking of the headband.

Noise Cancelling Capabilities

It can be argued that Sony has set itself apart from its rivals when it comes to its noise-canceling capabilities that have come to be of great importance over time. Sony has added a personal noise canceling optimizer to reduce the surrounding ambient noise while at the same time making sure they are not blocking any important noises. It automatically adjusts the headphones to the environment you’re in by analyzing the atmosphere around you. It is accessed from the companion app or a physical button on the left ear cup. It adjusts the noise-canceling settings based on the type of seal you are getting from your headphones. The seal could vary depending on whether or not you’re wearing glasses or have a different hairstyle. The atmospheric pressure optimizer is designed specifically for plane use and is unique to this headphone.

Touch Control

This model like the previous versions has touch control on the right ear cup. It can be used to adjust volume, control playback, as well as answer or end calls. Another amazing feature establishing the supremacy of this headphone is the ability to muffle your music by simply putting your hand over the right ear cup, specifically, where the controls are located. It has been found to be very convenient where after talking to someone you just remove your hand and the music continues playing. Using the EQ settings located in the app you get the ability to raise and lower the amount of ambient noise you want to hear. If that’s not enough, the settings also allow you to filter out the ambient noise but allow voices to come through. This comes in handy at airports, enabling the user to hear a public announcement easily.

Edifier may not be a well-known brand in the US but this Chinese manufacturing company produces decent audio products among them the Edifier H840 Hi-Fi Over-Ear Noise-Isolating Headphones, which you can easily purchase in the States now. The Edifier H840 is a low-budget headphone, with an impressive performance in unleashing quality audio.

What’s in the Box?

Edifier H840 Headphones

Audio Cable

User Guide

Design and Features

The first impression from this headphones can be quite unappealing. For once, the packaging of this product is plastic, which is not environmentally friendly and moreover, the sharp edges can nip off your fingers if not careful. The over ear headphones are primarily made up of plastic and the audio cable is connected to both of the earcups, adding clutter and cannot be detached.

However, the Edifier H840 is extremely lightweight, adding the element of comfort.

Audio Quality

Experience superior Hi-Fi stereo sound quality with this headphone. With deep, balanced and powerful sounds, every note is clear and there is no scratching. If you’re an “audiophile” type of person, the sound quality on these will seem medium. However, it provides decent hi-fi audio quality, with a careful balance between treble and bass. Unfortunately, there are instances of overwhelming bass even at medium volume levels, it is not tight and punchy, offering unclear audio. But, for those bass “junkies” this can be an advantage.

It may not produce a lifelike music experience, but it’s fun to use, more so if you’ve already used neutral tones headphones for a while.

Over the Ear Noise Isolating

The Edifier H840 over the ear noise isolating feature is what really draws people to purchase this product. They enable you to focus on the music being played by isolating exterior noise, unfortunately, it doesn’t feature Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) technology. You can still enjoy listening more comfortable and clearly from it.

Comfort

As mentioned earlier, these headphones are lightweight enabling you to wear them all day without feeling any discomfort. Moreover, the ergonomic design of the soft leather cups provides remarkable comfort. Additionally, the headband adjustability feature makes it ideal for all head sizes. The case also has a nice look and comes with both a charger cable and 3.5mm jack with which you can connect to your phone or computer headphone jack.

Verdict

There is clearly not much to expect from this quality piece, however, let us share some pros and cons of the Edifier H840 Hi-Fi Over-Ear Noise-Isolating Headphones.

The Cowin E7 is a budget noise-canceling headphones that boast of great wireless range but sadly with, mediocre sound quality. They’re a decent headphone for standard use and they often sound muffled and dark. However, these are among the most comfortable headphones with long battery life and have a good ability to cancel external noise, making it ideal for commuters.

What’s in the Box?

COWIN E7 Active Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones

Micro USB Charging Cable

Audio Cable

User Guide

Cowin E7 Design and Build Quality

The headphone has a decent design and quality build, however, it feels cheap. They’re well-padded but the comfortability is limited as the headband doesn’t come with the adjustability feature. For some users, they may appear bulky and slightly tight, introducing discomfort.

They have a good control system and the tight fit makes them stable, ideal for a casual job or brisk walking.

Style

It features a decent style, but not the best out there. The thick and well-padded headband gives it a high-end feel and the ear cups and equally padded. However, the infusion of cheap plastic on the build makes it seem low grade and cheap. The Cowin E7 also has a glossy finish which some of you will find unattractive.

Comfort and Controls

With a weight of 0.6 lbs. and a clamping force of 1.1 lbs. the Cowin E7 is a decent comfortable headphone that is lightweight. The headband, however, cannot be adjusted to accommodate different head sizes and the padding used is soft further reducing the clamping effect that may affect some users. They may also feel tight for some users due to the inability to adjust the headband.

The controls are on the side, giving direct access, however, they are a tad mediocre, when it comes to ease of use. The button layout also feels cramped but are highly responsive to volume control, previous/next track switching, as well as call/music feature. Moreover, there is a dedicated switch for Bluetooth and noise canceling.

Breathability

With an average temperature difference of 4.6 C, the Cowin E7 are breathable for a headphone with the over-ear design. They will occasionally warm up your ears and make you sweat, but this is negligent as you can listen to long periods before the temperature increase becomes an issue.

Portability

Unfortunately, these headphones cannot fold to take less space. They are placed on the far end on the larger side for over-ear headphones. Its bulky design is also an inconvenience to some and you’ll most likely need a bag or purse to carry them around. Luckily, it comes with a basic pouch for added protection.

Cable

The Cowin E7 comes with two cables; a 1/8 TRS audio cable and USB charging cable.

Verdict

The Cowin E7 headphones are indeed a must have, however, we must weigh the pros and cons.

User Guide

Overview

Design/Comfort:

These headphones are stylish but without the flashy hint. It is a perfect mix of a quality look and the subtleness look. They fit exceptionally well and fully enclose the ear, moreover, the padding provides quality, long-term comfort. Additionally, the headband adjustability feature makes it ideal for all head sizes. The case also has a nice look and comes with both a charger cable and 3.5mm jack with which you can connect to your phone or computer headphone jack. It can also be useful during flights.

Battery Life:

With an active use of 12 hours, these headphones can serve at a great length courtesy of its 3.7V 360mAh battery. If you are on the move, 12 hours is more than enough music time to pass the time. Moreover, the Bluetooth connection lasts quite long compared to other similar products, about 8 hours of active use.

Noise Cancelling Quality:

Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) technology is a feature engineered to reduce and block out exterior sounds whilst giving you clear audio. This feature is for crowded buildings, streets and even cabin noise. You can enjoy listening more comfortable and clearly. The noise canceling ability is indeed up to the challenge. These headphones have the ability to reduce up to 80% of white noise while giving you quality music experience even at low volume. You can put it to the test yourself by toggling the noise cancellation feature.

Sound Quality:

Experience superior Hi-Fi stereo sound quality with this headphone. With deep, balanced and powerful sounds, every note is clear and there is no scratching. If you’re an “audiophile” type of person, the sound quality on these is average. However, it provides decent hi-fi audio quality. Unfortunately, there are instances of sound leaks at medium-high to high volume levels.

The Barsone Active Noise Cancelling headphones are indeed a must have, however, we must weigh the pros and cons.

The PXC 550 is Sennheiser’s latest set of travel-friendly, noise-cancelling, Bluetooth-toting wireless headphones. Designed by one the most well-known and best regarded audio and headphone manufacturers the world over, with more than 70 years’ experience, the PXC 550 follows on from the now-very-outdated PXC 450 from 2007 and improves upon it significantly. Although you can still buy the PXC 450, the 550 is an entirely different beast– for one, it’s an entirely wireless headset if you want it to be, with an internal battery that charges over micro USB and integrated Bluetooth 4.2.

Sennheiser says the PXC 550 will get around 30 hours of battery life when corded and with noise cancellation enabled; throw Bluetooth into the mix and you’re more likely to get to 20 hours. Like Sennheiser’s main competition. The PXC 550 has an internal battery, which is a massive step up from previous sets’ quickly-depleted and annoying to replace AA or AAA alkaline cells.

As an audio company, Sennheiser is judged on its sound quality first, and the PXC 550 has some pretty big shoes to fill in that regard. This is the company that built the HD 800s and the Orpheus HE90s. But in 2016, the quality of a headset’s integrated microphones is equally important– and the PXC 550 uses an array of mics built into the two plastic-molded earcups both for ambient noise cancellation and voice calls.

Design

The PXC 550 headphones come with a sturdy semicircular carry case, a micro-USB cable for charging, a 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable for wired mode featuring an inline mic, a travel adapter, and a full-size headphone jack adapter.

The matte-black headphones look classy and elegant, with silver metal details that mark out the micro-grilles of four noise-canceling mics and accentuate the earcups’ oval shape. The hinged pivots form part of a collapsible frame that folds flat for stowing in the travel case. It’s a solid, well-built design -which is just as well, because turning the earcups from a flat to an inward facing position powers the headphones on and reversing the action turns them off, so users will be doing this quite a lot.

Audio Performance

While every pair of marquee Sennheiser headphones brings their own melange of spices to the table, they’re all serving a version of the same dish: rich, yet balanced bass, detailed mids with a measured drop of warmth, and a clean and clear upper register. Is it boring to know you’ll always get that same familiar sound signature? Absolutely not. Few brands control their sound as reliably as Sennheiser, and the PXC 550 brings the best hallmarks to bear.

The PXC 550 present a brighter, slightly more present approach than the heavier Momentum 2.0 headphones. That’s especially notable in the higher registers, where percussion like snare and cymbal strikes resonate with more jingle, and the top side of acoustic guitar has a buoyant fluidity. You’ll find plenty of that ruddy warmth in the mid-range, drawing up papered textures of drum skins, rich detail in dialogue and electric guitar, and a vibrant, golden color to brass.

Comfort

The PXC 550 are one the most comfortable closed back headphones tested. They’re incredibly well padded and the earcups are large enough to fit comfortably around most ears. The headband is also heavily cushioned and they’re relatively lightweight. They’re a bit tighter on the head than the QC 35 but they won’t cause any fatigue or soreness even during long listening sessions.

Stability

These headphones have a stable wireless design that won’t easily fall off your head. The firm swivel hinges, combined with the wide headband, and broad ear cups prevent the headphones from swaying too much even during physical activity. They won’t be the best choice for exercising or intense sports but the stability they provide is decent enough to jog with. The wireless design also removes the chances that the headphones will be yanked off your head because the audio cable got hooked on something.

Should you buy it?

The Sennheiser PXC 550 are just about the most feature-packed headphones around. As well as wireless and ANC, you can control your music and customize the sound quality using a phone app. They’re comfortable, sound quality is excellent and active noise cancellation is solid. Sennheiser’s PXC 550 sounds great, and sounds great despite integrating some excellent and impressively powerful noise cancelling at the same time. The addition of wireless doesn’t noticeably hurt sound quality, which is another tick in Sennheiser’s favor. The addition of control through an app is an excellent extra, and Sennheiser’s Cap Tune is one of the better ones we’ve seen.

What’s Impressive About The BÖHM B76 Headphones

Coming off their already successful model (BÖHM B66 Headphones), BÖHM has stepped up their game by making more improvements and creating headphones that is compatible with a plethora of new Bluetooth enabled devices. Like their predecessor, the BÖHM B76 Bluetooth wireless headphones comes with a noise cancellation feature to prevent outside noise and distractions from allowing you to enjoy a fully immersive audio listening experience.

The BÖHM B76 are powerful headphones that allow you to enjoy and listen to your favorite music, television programs, movies, and the latest video game consoles on the market. That means if you or a loved one enjoys playing the Xbox One or Sony PlayStation 4 gaming console, the B76 model is compatible. Audiophiles who enjoy listening to Rock, Pop, Country, Hip-Hop, or House music will enjoy excellent sound quality and experience a fulfilling listening experience.

Smartphone users are not forgotten as well. If you have the latest Apple technologies such as the iPhone 7, iPad Air 2 or MacBook Pro, this wireless Bluetooth connective device will sync perfectly to them. Other smartphone devices such as Samsung, LG, and more will also work with these headphones. The B76 utilizes the latest Bluetooth V4.0 technology which means your headphones can connect to your paired device at greater distances and will maintain great sound clarity.

These pair of headphones are extremely comfortable to wear. Let’s face it, if you find yourself wearing headphones for hours, whether your watching a program on your Smart HD Television, playing your favorite video games, or even engaged in long phone conversations, you need headphones that fit over your ears perfectly. The BÖHM B76 ear-cups does just that, it covers your ears completely and is very well cushioned with foam. That means you can enjoy up to 16 hours of comfortable and relaxing audio.

The BÖHM B76 has a built-in volume control functionality which offers a hands-free convenience. Whether your taking a phone call or switching over to your music, adjusting volume levels or activating noise cancellation mode is only a click-of-a-button away. For those who travel a lot such as going to the gym, to school, or other places that are far from home, you will love the fact that these headphones are constructed with a fold-able design. Portability is usually an issue with cheaper alternatives but not the case with the B76.

Things to take note of is when the noise cancellation feature is enabled, the battery life of the product can last for up to 8 hours long. Still a great average compared to lessor headphone brands on the market. The device also comes in two distinct colors to choose from. One is Black/Silver and the other is Tan-Brown/Silver. Both very attractive colors for a very well built and durable product.

The headphones are a set of professional, stereo DJ-Styled headphones produced by Beyerdynamic Headphones, a company well-known for its signature innovative audio products. This product has a great build quality with very solid construction and everything about it exudes strength.

The padded headband of the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO is wide and the metal shells are also massive. It is designed with a robust metal frame and interchangeable parts. The velvet-covered ear cups are wide as well. These ensure the headphones make good contact with the head and also ensure excellent sound insulation which makes it suitable for outdoor use.

Features

There are actually thee different versions of these headphones; 32, 80 and 250 Ohms. The DT 770 PRO 80 version tilts slightly more in favor of bass than the others which are better suited for studio use.

Having worked with a lot of monitoring headphones in the past, I must commend the rendering quality of this product. It has a good bass and is well-defined on the rest of the spectrum. In terms of audio quality, the mid and high tones are clean, precise and well-balanced with no visible troublesome harmonic distortion.

The Dynamic Technology used on the headphones provides good bass reproduction. The audio spectrum of this product is wide and makes for comfortable listening. There is no need to turn the volume all the way up to get a good feel of the audio spectrum. This is one of the many strengths of this helmet; it is very clean.

Another notable feature is the noise leakage of these headphones. The noise insulation is so good that the volume can be turned up really high and yet, it will not disturb anyone sitting close by. This makes it perfect for the workplace or quiet places like the library. Even if there is no music blaring from the headphones, the noise insulation can even blank out every day noises from within the immediate environment.

One of the first impressions you get upon wearing these headphones is the listening comfort. The helmet itself is light, the padding is nice, even for people wearing thick-rimmed glasses, and it fits very tight and snugly at the same time. The thick cord of the headphones is long (about 3 meters) and solid.

It is a bit bulky in size, and this might be an issue for some people.

Sennheiser PXC 450 Noise Cancelling Headphones sound and feel big

Some people wear headphones for the music. Others tend to use them to block out the noisy world, especially when they’re on public transportation like the bus, train or on an airplane. Most people today look for a pair of headphones that also define their style and how they present themselves to the world. There are hundreds of options on the market, one option you should consider looking at is the Sennheiser PXC 450 Noise Cancelling Headphones.

Features and benefits:

The PXC 450 model promises 90-percent noise reduction, dynamic sound and a foldable design that makes them fit nicely into any travel bag. The headphones come with a soft case, two audio adapters and two AAA batteries. One adapter fits into an airplane’s on-board entertainment slots; the other is a standard 6.3 millimeter. The headphones use one battery at a time and reviewers have said it lasts for about 16 hours.

Pros:

An easy-to-locate volume button on the side of the phones can be adjusted with one finger and there’s an iPod-style toggle switch on the cord to use for navigating your music library.

The headphones’ cord is long enough at 4.6 feet to reach from the pocket holding your music source up to your head without pulling or tugging.

A convenient TalkThrough feature gives you the option to hold a conversation with someone close to you without taking the headphones off.

If the battery dies, you can still enjoy music without the noise-cancelling feature by setting the headphones to Passive mode.

Cons:

The Sennheiser headphones are extremely large and people with smaller heads may find them ill-fitting or unattractive. Also, because of their size, they are a bit heavy and tend to fall off if you tilt your head down a certain way. Because of their heft, the headphones can be hot, and no one wants sweaty ears.

Foam padding where the headphones meet the ear tends to break down quickly after minimal use, leaving little black specks of the stuff in your hair and on your ears.

The noise-cancelling feature leaves room for improvement. Some users have reported a low hum that can lead to a dull headache, and others say Bose headphones makes a better product if you’re a traveler who needs to block out jet engine noise.

A raised plastic bump within the earpiece makes contact with the ear on some people, causing a bit of annoyance.

Conclusion:

The Sennheiser PXC450 Noise Cancelling Headphones are priced at around $230, which is a lot to spend on a set of phones if you only use them for traveling. But when you consider that they provide amazing sound quality and features that are unmatched, making such a purchase is warranted. Sennheiser headphones are built and constructed with the power of German-engineering and so the parts are of the best quality and all made of sturdy plastic and tightly assembled.

While they promise exceptional noise-cancelling technology that filters out 90 percent of background noise, they fall a bit short compared to other brands. But the convenient case, folding design, features like TalkThrough and the patented Duofol diaphragm and adaptive baffle damping, are enough to make this product worthy a closer look. Look for a display model, if you aren’t buying them online, and try them on before you buy them. If you have a smaller head, they may not be the right fit for you. If large premium quality headphones is what you are looking for, look no further with this product.
