The Audio-Technica ATHM50RD headphones are a set of professional studio monitor headphones. This product is known for giving audio performances that have been recognized by the best sound engineers and the harshest critics of the professional audio equipment. From the moment on lays hands on this product, one gets the feeling of holding a quality product.

Features

The plastic and silver band that surround the logo of Audio Technica gives the headphones a nice finish. The hinges seem to be flexible enough to bend and they can rotate through a 180 degree angle for those moments when the user wants to listen on a single ear cup.

The joints slightly hinder the atria to prevent their inadvertent reversal. The adjustable headband aluminum of the headset is also durable.

The pads are luxurious to touch and they cushion the ear while acting as a seal to ensure optimal isolation from external sounds. The headband of the Audio-Technica ATHM50RD headphone is adjustable. It is equally well-padded to provide adequate comfort when the user is actively engaged in long mixing sessions.

The ATH-M50 is very comfortable once they are worn on the head, even after several hours. Although, some users have experienced a slight pressure between the arch and the top of their heads, it is certainly not a deal breaker by any means.

For all intents and purposes, this headset appears to be primarily made for the audio professionals, whether for use within recording studios / production or for live mixing. The high quality sound reproduction observed in the ATH-M50 headphone is a direct result of the action of its hi-tech driver technology in conjunction with the superior components employed by the manufacturer, Audio-Technica, in making this product. These enable the headphones to deliver outstanding power handling as well as remarkable SPL abilities while still being able to sustain the clarity of sound all through their entire range.

The headphones have drivers with magnetic structures which facilitate effective signal transfer.

The M50 headphone provides a powerful sound. The closed design of this product helps to isolate background noise. However, with regards to the insulation provided by this headset, it is by no means the best. External sounds tend to pass through easily and so, they might not be ideal if you work in a noisy environment.

In terms of portability and storage, it has an effective and collapsible design which makes it easier to save space and store them away when not in use.

The coiled cable ends with a plated stereo mini-jack or with included 6.3 mm screw adapter. The headphones feature large-aperture transducers with neodymium magnets, a structure which was developed by Audio-Technica to ensure ultra-efficient signal transfer.

Much to its discredit, it is not possible to remove the cable of the Audio-Technica ATHM50RD headphones.

Features

The advanced Varimotion 30mm XXL transducers of the K 240 MK II headphones deliver a solid bass, precise middle range and crisp highs. The K240 MKII professional on-ear, semi-open headphones has long been a standard in the studio, in orchestras and on stages around the world.

The semi-open design of this product confers on it the buoyancy of an open headphone design but also with the powerful bass of a closed design. Although they were built specifically for use in recording studios, the K 240 MK headphones are also ideal for use in the home or even on stage. The headset has a detachable plug-in cable with mini XLR connector which can be easily replaced.

For an easy fit, the AKG K 240 semi-open studio headphones have an automatic headband which make them fit snugly on the user’s head without them experiencing any form of ear fatigue.

They provides good insulation from outside noise whenever they are in use as they isolate the ambient sound very well.

Thanks to its lower impedance and improved sensitivity, it can be used with audio sources with a low output voltage.

The product package comes with a set of thick and sturdy cables. They have a strong, rubber-like coating which serve to shield them from the external damage.

Both the mini-XLR plug as well as the 3.5mm jack are standard when compared to other brands of headphones. They equally have solid builds, which inspires confidence about their durability.

The jacks were design with a view to limiting strain to the barest minimum as the jacks seem to be designed to endure a lot of bending during use. The cables on this product are quite flexible even though they appear to be somewhat hard. They functions just as effectually as those found on any higher-priced headphones.

The cables and the headband of this unit have a modern design. The manufactured positioned small holes all around the center point of the ear cups. Metal-accented circles are also placed around these small holes, which add some coloration of these headphones and further boosts their aesthetic appeal.

The adjustable headband does not contain any padding and it gives the unit a more solid look and feel.

The ear pads have cushions made from leather and velvet are both soft and comfortable to wear for long hours.

Everyone knows an audiophile. He’s the guy who knows the difference between low, mid, and high-ranges and is very particular about the headphones he or she is wearing. That person wants to feel like they are in the front row of a great concert. If you are the kind of person that is looking for amazing sound quality that offers high-definition audio, than you may be very interested in the Sennheiser HD 700 Headphones and won’t mind the expensive price tag. When it comes to enjoying true studio quality audio, price doesn’t matter.

Features and benefits:

First of all, they’re really easy on the eye. The Sennheiser HD 700 promises exceptional sound with and even tone. Comfort, though, is one of the headphones’ best features. With an adjustable headband and microfiber ear pieces that pivot freely and can accommodate any head size. Additionally, the headphones come with a two-year warranty.

Pros:

The Sennheiser HD 700 model has a noise-cancelling feature but you will not need it. The headphones fits so nicely and sound so big that you’ll hear nothing but the pure intricacies of the music. Constructed with a ventilated magnet system, there is virtually zero distortion no matter the range of the tone. Because they’re so comfortable to wear, you may forget you’re wearing headphones. Even after hours of listening, your ears will not be overheated and sweaty. They fit with just the right amount of pressure to ensure a quality listening experience. If you wear glasses or a hearing aid, there’s plenty of room so that the headphones don’t get in the way of either.

Cons:

The open-ended design is attractive and plays a role in the quality sound, but don’t expect to wear these in the office or on public transit. They require volume to sound their best and your music will leak from the sides enough to annoy your coworkers or the people sitting near you in public places. This model is best enjoyed at home or in a car. The Sennheiser HD 700’s weigh in at 14.4 ounces. That’s almost like wearing a 16-ounce beer on your head. Even though they’re comfy, they are bit bulky. Audiophiles are picky. They are very sensitive to all things aural and this Sennheiser model takes a lot of flak for their bass reproduction, especially if you’re into heavy metal, hard rock, rap or electronic dance music. In fact, some people complain that the headphones put too much emphasis on treble.

If you’re planning on using these headphones in a recording studio, don’t. The open-end design allows too much sound to leak and a nearby microphone can pick it up. The headphones come with a big, padded case. They are not meant to be portable or used in close proximity to other people. The cord is possibly the biggest flaw in the design of these headphones. It’s really thick and tends to kink. Also, there are no music controls on the cord.
