Lil Nas X with the help of Billy Ray Cyrus is making waves over YouTube’s top trending charts as of April 2019. After Lil Nas X’s original song “Old Town Road” was removed from billboard’s Country charts for being “not to country”, he drops the remix with Billy Ray Cyrus.
It’s undeniable that this song has put down another connecting bridge between Hip-Hop and Country Music, the same way Nelly and Tim McGraw did with their song “Over and Over”. But Old Town Road’s reception is much bigger today because of the fused sound of trap music and country.
The newer generation agrees that this is the direction that music is moving towards and we are all aboard that train.
